Goal of the WV PA Plan • AIM: To create a statewide culture that facilitates physically active lifestyles where our citizens live, work, and play • GOAL: To provide a strategic direction to increase/maintain healthy physical activity levels of the citizens of WV through the development, implementation, and evaluation of an effective WV Physical Activity Plan that will facilitate sector input and collaboration, and guide policy and practice
WEBINAR Objectives • Provide update on WV PA Plan development activities since 2010 WV Physical Activity Symposium • Clarify next steps for developing an effective WV Physical Activity Plan • Describe the role of sector leaders and sector participants • Introduce brainstorming software that will elicit ideas and feedback from participants statewide

WV PA Plan – ActiveWV 2015 5 Year Plan Structure Overview • Year 1 (2011): WV PAP Development • Year 2 – 5 (2012-15): Implementation and Evaluation of Plan • Year 5 (2015): Sustainability
Year 1: 2011 • Establish a multi-disciplinary, multi-sector PAP Coordinating Committee and Sector Leader Team • Inform, seek advice, and garner support from government agencies, organizational partners, and other key stakeholders • Develop the written PA Plan with input from all societal sectors • Hold meetings, analyze results, develop Plan, seek public comment, finalize plan for release • Assemble State Implementation Teams and begin development of Implementation Plan • Assemble State Evaluation Team and begin development of Evaluation Plan • Seek funding to sustain central coordination and promotion of the ActiveWV 2015 Plan

Concept Mapping • A systematic process to gather input from large groups of stakeholders • Two main steps for stakeholder input • Brainstorming • Sorting and rating • End products are visual representations of ideas and the relations between these ideas
