LightSquared • Issue: LightSquared LLC has purchased spectrum for terrestrial and satellite-based Wi-Fi • $4B invested since 2004 • Through spectrum swaps and waivers, plan to develop 40,000 terrestrial stations in the L band, just below GPS frequencies • GPS is 90 dB below LS signals • Effectively shuts down civilian GPS over most urban areas • FCC has received thousands of comments; stay tuned 27 Jan 2012
