Mission and Beliefs • The MISSIONof Colleton County School District is to ensure that all students meet or exceed state standards in preparation to become college and career ready. • We BELIEVE: • All children can learn and be motivated to do so; • The district, schools, parents, and students are accountable for achievement goals; • Data must be reviewed to plan instruction and monitor progress; • All students must be taught by highly qualified staff; • Frequent instructional feedback will improve teaching; • Positive home and school relations and a climate of high expectations promote excellence; • All students deserve equal opportunities for a quality education in a safe environment; and • All people are worthy of respect and can become productive citizens.
Forum Goals: • Share good news about the strategic efforts CCSD is making to improve student performance; • Share opinions/suggestions/recommendations to improve district performance • Reaffirm stakeholder’s commitments to the district’s mission of Excellence and Effort
Accreditation Summary CCSD – AdvancED Accredited Advised Required Action #1 • Formalize processes and procedures to review all board policies on a frequent regular cycle, and • Put into operation administrative regulations to ensure board policies support a 21st century educational system.
Accreditation Summary Required Action #2 • Develop and implement a comprehensive formal district process to analyze instructional practices K-12; • Practices guarantee implementation of a rigorous and relevant educational system which actively engages all students in their learning.
Accreditation Summary Required Action #3 • Systematically analyze the current digital learning environments across the district, and • Implement a framework to ensure embedded, consistent use of digital tools/technology by all students to enhance 21st century learning.
Governance • Process and procedure to review regularly all board policies. • Selected policies are reviewed annually by the SC School Boards association, CCSD school board, and district administration.

Goal 2 – Teacher/Administrator Quality • CCSD will recruit and retain highly qualified teaching and administrative candidates by providing supports and incentives. • CCSD will provide staff development to teachers and administrators about research-proven instructional best practices for increasing student mastery of standards and working with students from diverse backgrounds

Teacher Quality - HQ Teachers We make a continuous effort to INCREASE the number of HIGHLY QUALIFIED teachers in our District. At current calculation, 95.64% of CCSD classes are taught by teachers who qualify as Highly Qualified according to State and National Standards The data source is the SCDE HQ report for the year data is listed above.
Goal 3 – Parent Involvement, School Climate, & Home-School-Community Relations • CCSD will continue to improve 2-way communication with parents, students, and stakeholders. • CCSD expects parents to participate in decision making at the district and school levels. • CCSD will provide parents with information about how to help their children be successful in school.
