Provost Remarks To accommodate curricular changes consider the following: • Increase opportunities to double count sections for requirements (CORE and Major’ Dual Degrees; Majors and /Minors). • A course can count for more than one student learning outcome. • Faculty teaching load computed on a two-year rolling average – sometimes under-defined load; sometimes over-defined load. • Faculty teaching load will reflect teaching in/out of department and in/out of college supported by FTE SCH generation. • Create a banking system for compensation of dissertation; thesis; independent study credit.
Provost Remarks To accommodate curricular changes consider the following: • In each college provide at least one three-year degree program, including commitment to offering summer coursework for high-flying students (likely not average students).
Provost Remarks First Discussion Group: Open to all. Immediate suggested composition • Chair of Core Curriculum Committee • Chair of Academic Affairs Committee • Chair of Faculty Welfare and Development Committee • Chair of Faculty Senate • Representative from Registrar and IR • Designated representative from each college • Others as interested
