Receiving Club Updates (Online Community) • Facebook • We’re trying to get control of the current Facebook group (current admin graduated) • If we can’t, we’ll make a new one • CollegiateLink • ufl.collegiatelink.net • New system being used by all UF student organizations • Feel free to join the club (https://ufl.collegiatelink.net/organization/statsclub)

  4. Receiving Club Updates (Online Community) • Listserv • Not on it yet? Shoot Doug an email • Website • We need one • Anyone interested in doing this? • (No need to volunteer right this second, send Doug an email)

  5. Goals for the Club • General goals for the club • Focus activities in two key areas • Statistics in Industry • Statistics in Academia • Specific major projects • Student Government election polling • Establishment of the club as a resource for undergraduates in other fields (collaboration)

  6. Goals for the Club • Minor activities • Speakers • Graduate students • Professors • You? • Workshops • Statistical methods • Related topics (LaTeX, CVs/résumés, the peer-review process) • Other?

  7. Goals for the Club • What would you like to see? • This is your club • We’ll be (trying to) send out surveys after each activity to gauge the response and become better

  8. Getting Involved • We need leaders for three major parts of the club • Statistics in Academia • Statistics in Industry • Club Internals • We also need to find people to give talks, workshops, etc.
