Tips of the trade How do I become less uncomfortable around people different from me? • You are in charge! Have confidence • Be yourself, you’re the only person qualified • Do not try to change your institution or yourself to fit a specific demographic • It’s okay to be curious, using tact • Be Honest! If unsure ask questions • Research, research, research • Become a useful resource, not a salesman • Find common ground
