奈奎氏取樣率(Nyquist-Rate)ADC • 在訊號取樣時(Sampling),會造成失真的現象(aliasing),為避免訊號失真,信號在取樣時所使用的頻率,必須要為原訊號頻率的二倍以上,即為奈奎斯特取樣定理(Nyquist Sampling Theorem),而此取樣頻率則稱為奈奎斯特頻率(Nyquist frequency)或稱為奈奎斯特率(Nyquist rate)。
超取樣(Oversampling) • 超取樣類比數位轉換器通常操作在20倍到512倍的輸入奈奎氏率,藉由濾除頻帶以外的量化雜訊,以提高輸出訊號的雜訊比(Signal to Noise Ratio:SNR),等於是利用頻寬換精確度。
