Check regularly the Funding and Tender Portal • Check for FAQs: • Under call H2020-ICT-2018-2020, topics ICT-03-2018-2019, ICT-04-2018, ICT-05-2019: Which part of the electromagnetic spectrum is covered by these "Photonics" topics in H2020? • Published on : 27-02-2018 2:07 PM • Eg. • The photonics topics in H2020 cover research and innovation activities under the Photonics Public Private Partnership (Photonics PPP). A recent vision document of the Photonics PPP describes Photonics as "the technology of harnessing light. It encompasses technologies that generate, detect, measure, transmit and manage light, from infrared through the visible spectrum to x-rays. The word is derived from the photon – a particle of light – just as the word electronics derives from the electron." • The following parts of the spectrum fall outside the scope of photonics: (a) radiation at electronic frequencies, below the terahertz range (i.e. below 300 GHz; e.g. millimetre waves, microwaves, radio waves); (b) radiation above X-ray frequencies (e.g. gamma rays).
