Enabling GPS Mandate in Passenger Transport Vehicles The Government of India has mandated the installation of Global Positioning System (GPS) in passenger transport vehicles including taxis and buses by April 2018. As of now, three-wheeler public transport such as auto-rickshaws and electric vehicles have been exempted from this rule.
