NARFE Recruitment and Prospecting Kit • Developed to: • Streamline materials • Focus event presentations • Encourage collection of Prospect Information Cards (M-2) and their return to HQ.
Event Materials • Limit orders to: • Membership Brochure (F-135) • NARFE Magazine • Prospect Information Cards (M-2) • Elevator Speech Thru OAM (Member Recruitment) • Be able to talk both NARFE and e-NARFE http://www.narfe.org/enarfe/home/index.cfm
Once the completed M-2 received at HQ, • Entered into database • Shows as “Prospect” at all levels • NARFE sends Prospect a series of letters and e-mails designed to help recruit to NARFE or e-NARFE. • Chapter/Recruiter gets credit +, if (M-2) has a filled out “Recruiter #” • Chapter can also follow-up
Once the completed M-2 appears as Prospect on the OAM • Be aware of what NARFE is sending them • Chapter can follow up by… • “Working the prospect over several months • Phone call • Letter from the chapter • E-mail • Invitation to chapter meetings or special function (buy lunch?)
Why Public Relations? • Increase general awareness and appreciation of NARFE • Support NARFE Legislative goals (PAH) • Support NARFE and chapter recruiting efforts

Public Relations Matching Funds • WSFC Public Affairs will pay up to 50% for (pre-approved) expenses. • If pre-approved by WSFC President, we can ask HQ for up to 50% of expenses
Approved items (at both WSFC and NARFE) are limited to: • Advertising in selected local pubs with high retiree/AFE readership • Booth space rental for NARFE display • Room Rental for special awareness events • More………
Approved items (at both WSFC & NARFE) are limited to: (2) • Limited purchase of NARFE related presentation items (WSFC will order) • Reproduction, stationery & postage associated with external PR activities • Food or snacks for prospective, not current, NARFE members at recruiting events.
