Beetroot Sambar Recipe

Ingredients Required To Make Beetroot Sambar Recipe Toor dal - 1 cup Beetroot - 1 cup Tomato - 1 Green chillies - 2 Tamarind - Lemon size Turmeric powder - ½ teaspoon Coconut (grated) - ¼ cup Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon Coriander powder - 2 teaspoon
Fenugreek seeds powder - 1 tsp Ingredients Required To Make Beetroot Sambar Recipe Asafoetida powder - A pinch Coconut oil - As needed Mustard - 1 teaspoon Shallot - 1 Cumin seeds - ½ teaspoon Dry red chilli - 2 Coriander leaves / curry - few Salt - As per taste
Step - 1 Wash and clean the toor dal and then add it into the pressure cooker along with a pinch of turmeric powder and water (2 cups). Cook it for around 3 to 4 whistles or until the dal becomes soft. The Process To Make Beetroot Sambar Recipe In a bowl soak tamarind along with warm water for around 15 minutes and then extract paste from it. Take a pan and heat the oil. Then add green chillies and saute them for around a minute.
Step - 2 Now, add tomatoes, salt and beetroot. Saute them for 4 - 5 minutes or till the vegetables cook properly. Close the pan using a lid and continue to cook the vegetables. The Process To Make Beetroot Sambar Recipe Once beetroot is 50% cooked, then add coriander powder, chilli powder and salt. Mix well and cook for few minutes till the oil begin to separate. Time to add cooked dal with beetroot and bring the boil in the mixture.
Step - 3 Now, add tamarind paste, fenugreek seeds powder and asafoetida powder and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on medium flame. The Process To Make Beetroot Sambar Recipe Meanwhile, roast the grated coconut in a pan until brown. Heat oil in another pan and add mustard seeds, shallots, dry red chillies, cumin seeds and curry leaves. Pour this seasoning into the sambar along with roasted coconut. Beetroot sambar is ready. Serve hot.
