  7. FIRST DAY PROCEDURES FOR ATTENDANCE Roll over of students 2012 enrollment is done prior to school year beginning. We are assuming everyone is going to return. • For first day of school: Campuses run student rosters for each Teacher. Teachers should have rosters by the start of the school day August 22. • Teachers will mark the class roster in Red, those students that are not present (these students will be your NO SHOWS ). Students who are not present for the first day of school are not considered absent -- they are no shows. Teacher will turn in roster with information to Attendance office as soon as possible. Attendance staff will use the teacher rosters to identify the no shows. No shows will be given an end enrollment date of August 21. This is a date outside of the school instructional calendar. End status reason: No Show. New rosters with updated information will be printed prior to second day of classes. • By the second day (August 23), teachers can start marking students present or absent in the system. No Shows should not be on class roster any longer. If no show students are still appearing, please notify attendance administrator. • Note to attendance staff: When an end date is added to a student’s enrollment record, their class schedule will be deleted. Make sure to make a copy of class schedule for future use. Also student’s begin enrolled day should be the first day the student reports to the campus. • Teachers also need to inform attendance administrator of all students showing up in class and do not appear on the class attendance roster. Administrator can investigate if child is in wrong room or schedule changes are pending. • We should be able to run reports and make sure that the campus enrollment, and attendance codes are correct by the second day.
