  1. How does your media product represent particular social groups?

  2. Front Cover My magazine I have chosen for my front cover artist to have a digetic gaze similar to the picture of Florence on the front cover of NME this is because I want my magazine to have a representation of been straight to the point and trustworthy as well as having an individual twist as it is aimed at a demographic of young adults, whom are educated and like a wide variety of music similar to the demographic of NME. I have dressed her quite quirky similar to the very bright quirky colour hair of Florence which has been highly exaggerated on the NME front cover, this is because I want the young people whom read the magazine to know it is alright to be quirky and different and to show they can listen to whatever they want to and they won’t be persecuted for it. Finally I have also chosen like the NME front cover , to make my subject the whole cover wide this is because I want my magazine to stand out on a shelf to my demographic, so that although it is a niche magazine it doesn't get lost behind the more mainstream ones, which will give the confidence to educated quirky individuals to purchase it.

  3. Double page spread My magazine On my double page spread I have not used a photo with a digetic gaze as I want to again apply to the demographic of quirky educated, young people. But I want to show them that they can be rebellious sometimes in the sense that its alright to turn away from what society expects you to listen to e.g. Lady Gaga and be individual and that being individual means that sometimes you know things and have ideas that others don’t, this is shown in my photograph by my artist looking downwards as if to hide something. The fact the photo is also in black and white gives a vintage feel which represents how vintage ideas are still relevant today, and that my demographic can mix its love of old music with newer artists performing older style music such as Michael Bublé, which appeals to an educated audience. Similarly the NME article also has chosen to have the artist turn away to give a sense of power and an uperhand to the artist which applies to my magazine as well, as a side face photo can be seen as a royal symbol of power as we see it on stamps and coins, making my artist seem successful and encouraging educated, successful people to read my magazine.
