Testing the Shore Station Demonstrator at IFIC Valencia • Shore station demonstrator • 3 level network topology (3 White Rabbit switches) • 3SPEC cards, 1 CLBv2 • exact replica of the shore station demonstrator test setup, that 7Solution has created at Granada • Participants: Diego Real, Emilio Marin Lopez (7S), Belias Tassos, Kostas Manolopoulos

  3. 1st Data Broadcasting Test • Data Broadcasting with 2 SPEC cards

  4. 1st Test Results before calibration • Green line: 1st SPEC card • Yellow line: 2nd SPEC card • Red line: WR Broadcasting switch • Blue line: Level_1 WR switch Skew is observed before the calibration

  5. 1st Test Results after calibration • Test was successful and sub-nanosecond accuracy was achieved!

  6. 2nd Data Broadcasting Test • Data Broadcasting with 3 SPEC card (for the very first time!)

  7. 2nd Test Results after calibration • Red line: WR Broadcasting switch • Blue, green, yellow line: SPEC cards 1, 2, 3 • Testing the data broadcasting with 3 SPEC cards was a success!! • Achieved sub-nanosecond accuracy

Summary • All 3 tests were successful • Verified data broadcasting with 3 SPEC cards • Verified data broadcasting using a CLB • IFIC has an operational shore station demonstrator • Nest steps • Building a shore station demonstrator in Athens • Received WR starting kit + WR switch • Ready to order a second WR switch • At some point a couple of CLBs will be needed
