GOLD STAR MOTHER’S DAY – 29 Sept 2013 http://www.mwrbrandcentral.com/HOMEPAGE/monthlyobservances.html • Objective • To promote Gold Star Mother’s Day honoring Surviving Mothers of Soldiers who have died in military service. To educate Army Communities about the significance of the Gold Star and Next of Kin pins so people recognize the pins and honor the Survivors who wear them. Creative materials: Posters/ flyers (4 versions including one for Gold Star Mother’s and Families’ Day) • KeyMessage (to customers) • “Gold Star Mothers wear symbols of remembrance, sacrifice and strength”. The symbols are Gold Star and Next of Kin pins. Gold Star Mothers each have a very personal story to tell about their Fallen son or daughter. We must recognize their sacrifice, honor their resilient spirit and take time to listen to their stories. • Target Audiences • -Gold Star Mothers, Fathers and Families. All Survivors.-All members of Army Communities and surrounding areas: Soldiers, Families, Retirees, Civilians and Community members • - Digital screen ads (4 versions) Web Ad • Engagement Opportunities • -Gold Star Mother’s Day print materials should be placed at all SOS, ACS and Family and MWR facilities • -Place Gold Star Mother’s Day ad on garrison Family and MWR website to raise awareness. Redirect to www.sos.army.mil.
