  2. Purpose of our lives • Is to become happy. • What makes you happy? • Where does it come from?

  3. The Happiness in Nichiren Buddhism • The happiness we refer to in Buddhism is not dependent on outside events. • The Happiness: • For all mankind • and an individual happiness. • The happiness of all mankind starts from us.

  4. The purpose of practicing this Buddhism • It requires a change from within not without. (Inner change) • This inner change is often referred to as “Human Revolution” in SGI.

  5. What kind of changes do you wish? • Overcome sickness • Avoid getting older • Improve Finance • Become smarter • Become courageous and strong • Have self confidence • Be able to say “I am happy.” • Reform bad life tendency (Karma)

  6. Characteristics of Human Revolution • Human revolution = enlightenment = Buddha • Great health • Youthfulness • Good fortune • Wisdom • Passion • Conviction • Victory

  7. World Peace • Many wars once you get out of this community center • Traffic • Relationship • Economy • Violence • We are part of it.

World Peace = Kosen Rufu • Kosen Rufu is Japanese and literally means “widely declare and spread” the teaching of Buddhism. • Widespread acceptance of Buddhist philosophy as the foundation of society. • This does not mean only external revolution. • This must be based on individual inner change.

  9. Where can we start to achieve world peace? • What kind of neighborhood or local community do you dream of? • World peace starts with us, here and now. • Sharing this most humanistic and compassionate philosophy with your friend is the beginning of world peace. • Dialogue is our weapon • Mouth is our gun • Words of compassion are our bullets
