Receive … ask the animals, and they will teach you; the birds of the air, and they will tell you; ask the plants of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of every human being. From the book of Job, chapter 12, verses 7 to 10

  5. Engage World Environment Day is a day for everyone, everywhere. Since it began in 1972, global citizens have organized many thousands of events, from neighbourhood clean-ups, to action against wildlife crime, to replanting forests. This year’s theme (‘Connecting People to Nature’) invites you to think about how we are part of nature and how intimately we depend on it. It challenges us to find fun and exciting ways to experience and cherish this vital relationship.

Activity suggestion … Set yourself a challenge to get outside an enjoy outdoor spaces – maybe introduce a friend to the park, fields or woods that you like.

  7. Respond [Reflect for a minute on the worship theme and our engagement …] God, the Earth is beautiful, help us to care for our world, to tread carefully so that we don’t harm the environment. Amen
