  25. New Event Marketing Communications Team Decision Making Event Participants may be asked to: select appropriate communication channels for a campaign develop a key message to convey to a market

  26. Name Changes Financial Services Team Decision Making Event Broadens the scope of the event Scenario may not always ask the participant team to analyze financial documents Professional Selling Event Opens up the event to new product categories Aligns with the intended purpose of the event

  27. Use of Sound Sound will now be allowed in written/prepared events, however, the volume must be kept at a conversational level

Interaction with Judges Materials appropriate to the situation may be handed to or left with judges in all competitive events For PBAs, TDMs, and Series Events Materials passed to or left behind must be created during the designated preparation time For Prepared Events Materials passed to or left behind can be anything not prohibited by the event guidelines

  29. Revised Evaluation Forms Evaluation forms for PBAs, TDMs, and Series Events now have odd and even numbers Values have been adjusted so that a student receiving scores in the “Meets Expectations” category is more likely to receive a competency certificate

  34. Career Specialties DECA’s Competitive Events Taskforce has not addressed Career Specialties Do not appear in Performance Indicator Lists

  35. What Does This Mean? All competitors should understand the performance indicators in the Business Administration Core. Team Decision Making Events are more specialized than Principles of Business Administration Events. Individual Series Events are more specialized than Team Decision Making Events.

Competitive Events Taskforce for 2010-2011 The taskforce will be reviewing and making recommendations to improve: DECA Quiz Bowl Chapter Team Events Business Management and Entrepreneurship Events Online Events Ideas for improvement should be sent to Shane (or another taskforce member) by October 29
