Today we will learn about another time when two letters make one sound. bl A blend is two or three letters that make one sound. Each letter is heard but the sounds are blended together.

Carl Sandburg is a great author. This statement is an opinion. Saying that someone or something is great can not be proven. It is just how someone feels.
Carl Sandburg wrote a book called Rootabaga Stories. This statement is a fact. You could prove whether this is true or not.
I will now read to you The Story of Rags Habakuk, the Two Blue Rats, and the Circus Man Who Cams with Spot Cash Money. As you listen, I want you to see if you can come up with a fact and an opinion from the story.
After putting on the vest, Rags had a good business. This is an opinion. The circus man gave Rags two thousand dollars for the rats. This is a fact.
