SUMMARY OF EU SECURITY MEASURES DIRECTED at JAA • JAA to finalise work on Door Locking Policy and • amend Operational Requirements, Report by April • 2002, Amendment of Requirements to be initiated • before Summer of 2002. • JAA to draw up Requirements for Security Training of • Flight and Cabin Crews, June 2002. • JAA to continue to work on Door Strengthening and • and Penetration Resistance, meeting the Airworthiness • Requirements in Regulation 3922/91, Report within one • year to Council.
JAA SECURITY MEASURES • Since mid October several NAA’s have issued • measures achieving the same intent as SFAR 92, -1, • and -2 • Issuance of ‘JAA Policy Paper on Flightcrew • Compartment Access Door Design and the • associated Changes in Operational Procedures’, • endorsed by JAAC 20 November 2001
JAA SECURITY MEASURES CONT’D • NPA JAR 25.XX, Security Considerations • (a) The flightcrew compartment, including • bulkheads,doors (when required by operating • rules) and any other barriers separating it from • occupied areas, must be designed to: • (1) resist penetration by small arms fire and • fragmentation devices, and • (2) resist forcible intrusion by unauthorized • persons.
