  1. Welcome to Bristol Road Grade 8 Parent Information Evening

  2. Transportation Will my child be bussed to secondary school? If your child accepts a position in a Regional (specialized) Program they will not receive bussing. Home Secondary School students will receive bussing based on Peel Board Policy #39 1 (a) The Peel District School Board's eligibility distances for transportation are outlined below:  (i) Kindergarten students -             1.0 km. (.625 miles)  (ii)   Grades 1 - 4 students -              1.6 km. (1 mile)  (iii)  Grades 5 - 6 students -              2.0 km (1.25 miles) (iv)  Grades 7 - 8 students -              3.2 km. (2 miles) (v)  Secondary students -                 4.8 km. (3 miles) 2.  The Board's Transportation Officers may authorize bus transportation for:(a)  Students for whom, in the opinion of the Controller of Facilities and Transportation Support Services, transportation is required for safety or other reasons. (b) Students whose physical or mental condition necessitates special consideration.  (c) Students where, in the opinion of the Board, unusual circumstances exist. * Please note that these decisions are not made at the school level and individual questions should be directed to the transportation department at CBO

Regional Programs Specialized • Regional (specialized) programs are run at various secondary schools in Peel and are aimed at meeting the diverse range of needs and interests of students. • These programs include: • Sci Tech @ Port Credit S.S. • Strings @ Port Credit S.S. • Regional Arts Program @ Cawthra Park S.S. • International Business and Technology (IBT) @ Gordon Graydon • Flexography @ Gordon Graydon • International Baccalaureate (IB) @ Glenforst S.S. • All regional specialized programs have specific entrance requirements. • Each will have an application process with strict deadlines and a combination of either an audition, interview or applied aptitude demonstration • Spaces are limited and there is no guarantee that an applicant will be given a spot • For further details visit the individual school’s websites and be sure to attend their open house ( a list is up on our website and will be provided to you tonight).
