  2. Early Beginnings • Juan was the youngest of three brothers and was supposed to become a soldier, while his oldest brother was supposed to get all the riches and land. He wasfriends with Vasco de Gama.

  3. Soldier • Ponce de Leon was trained to become a squire and page and lessons were in there training to become a soldier. The older he got the less chores he had and more training.

  4. Exploration • Ponce de Leon decided to explore because he was a soldier but when their was no war he had no job. So he went on Christopher Columbus’s second voyage.

  5. While Exploring • He came in disagreement with Christopher Columbus and stayed behind in Santo Domingo • There he got a disease that caused the loss of his right hand • It was said there was gold so he set off for the island of Borinquen

  7. Fountain of Youth • The fountain of youth is a legendary spring that supposedly restores the youth of anyone who finds it. Then drinks or bathes in it.

  8. Searching for the Fountain • He was hired by Revlon a cosmetic company to find the fountain then he landed in St. Augustine Florida and unfortunately did not find the fountain

  9. Accomplishments • Searched for the fountain of youth • Was the governor of Puerto Rico
