…from Easton's 1897 Bible Dictionary: HOPE…an essential element of Christian character (1 Cor. 13:13) joined to faith and love…..is “opposed to” seeing or possessing (Rom. 8:24; 1 John 3:2).Christian vocation is centered upon a hope which unbelievers do not share (1 Pet. 3:15; Heb. 10:23; Eph. 1:18; 4:4; Eph. 2:12; 1 Thess. 4:13). Hope is alive, not frail and perishable, but having perennial life (1 Pet. 1:3)and in Rom. 5:2 "hope" is eternal life itself.Jesus’ eternal and incarnate being embodies God and creation’s hope for fulfillment .
