Home Learning… • Reading 20 minutes per night • Homework schedule Sunday – Spellings (30 minutes) Monday – Maths (30 minutes) Tuesday – English (45 minutes) Wednesday – Maths (15 minutes) Mental Maths (15 minutes) • MBIS Home Learning Policy and Guidance for Parents is available on the school website

  10. How to help your child with home learning • Establish a routine with your child: a set time and place for home learning to be done • Check what tasks have been set and that your child understands what needs to be done • Encourage independence: facilitate not dominate!

  11. Expectations In Year 5, the children will be encouraged to: • Further develop their ability to work independently • Pack their own bags • Bring their own stationery - pencil - rubber - pencil sharpener - coloured pencils - small ruler with cm markings

  12. Reward systems • Class rewards include house points, responsible tasks eg. collecting house points, golden book awards, praise. • House system – contributing to team success
