Cisar Division of Concepts and Planning
Receipt of one fuel assembly from abroad Receiving country Neptune Receiving MBA NN-B (Facility NNB-) Report number 33 Shipping country Germany Batch name IBC701 Uranium weight 3.3152 kg U-235 weight 0.2825 kg Receiving date 18-03-2005 No measurements have been performed at the receiving MBA.
Accounting Area IdentificationCountry Code ICR, PIL, MBR • Code that identifies the country • Assigned by the IAEA • One or two character code for material accounting and reporting purposes Examples: RVVietnam W Euratom F France CN Canada NN Neptune
Accounting Area IdentificationFacility Code ICR, PIL, MBR • Identifies the reporting facility • Begins with the country code • Specified in the Facility Attachment • Four-character code Examples: NNB- NNAB NNR-
Accounting Area IdentificationMBA Code ICR, PIL, MBR • Identifies the reporting material balance area (MBA) • Begins with the country code • Specified in the Facility Attachment • Four-character code • All material accounts based on the MBA Examples: NN-B NNA1, NNA2, NNA3 NN-R
Report IdentificationReporting Period ICR, PIL, MBR • Beginning and ending dates of ICR period • entries (except corrections) dated within the ICR period • typically for a one-month period • Beginning and ending dates of MBR period • beginning date one day after previous PIL date • ending date same as date of associated PIL • PIL date • date of the physical inventory taking (PIT) • same as ending date of associated MBR
Report IdentificationReport Number ICR, PIL, MBR • Uniquely identifies an accounting report for an MBA • First report for an MBA has the number one (1) • Consecutive, regardless of report type
Report IdentificationEntry Number ICR, PIL, MBR • Uniquely defines an accounting entry within a report • Consecutive, beginning with the number one (1)
Date of ICR • Date of event • Date format is specified in the Code 10: • Six digits: year, month, day “YYMMDD” Example: 13 March 2009 ~ “090313”
Batch InformationShipper/Receiver of Material ICR • Country, MBA or facility • Mandatory for domestic and foreign transactions • Country code sufficient when reporting receipt/shipment foreign, if MBA or facility code not known • MBA code mandatory for domestictransactions Examples: “NN”“NN-B” “NNB-”
MBA/COUNTRY FROM - TO Examples: NN-B - NNA1 F - NNA2 NNA3 - CN W
Batch InformationType of Inventory Change ICR • Increases • Decreases • Changes in batch structure • Changes in material category • Two-character codes describing the various inventory changes • Defined in Code 10 Example: Receipt from abroad ~ “RF”
KMP CODE • Flow KMP Code • Defined in Facility Attachment • Numbers are used (RF for NN-B = 2)
Batch InformationBatch Name ICR, PIL • Name or number of batch • Combination of alphabetic, numeric and special characters • Typical batch defined in Facility Attachment • ICR and PIL entries on a batch basis Example:“ABC5318Z”
Batch InformationNumber of Items in Batch ICR, PIL • Number of similar items in a batch • For bulk material zero may be reported if the number of items is not meaningful
Batch InformationMaterial Description Code ICR, PIL • Four-character code: • physical form • chemical composition • containment • irradiation status and quality • Defined in Code 10 • Specified in the Facility Attachment for a typical batch Example:“GQJB” ~ fresh fuel assembly
Batch InformationMaterial element/Element code ICR, PIL, MBR • The type of material in a batch • Depleted Uranium (D) • Natural Uranium (N) • Enriched Uranium (E) • Unified Uranium (U) • Plutonium (P) • Thorium (T)
Batch InformationMaterial isotope/Isotope code ICR, PIL, MBR • Indicates the isotope content of enriched or unified uranium G: U235 only J: U233 and U235 K: U233 only • The isotope type • must be reported for enriched uranium (E) • must be reported for unified uranium (U)
Batch InformationMaterial/Isotope weight ICR, PIL, MBR • The quantity of material in a batch or in a summarized material balance entry • Isotope weight required for: • enriched uranium • unified uranium • All weights reported as positive values; in some entries, negative values also accepted: • shipper/receiver differences (DI) • material unaccounted for (MUF) • rounding adjustments
Batch InformationWeight Data Units ICR, PIL, MBR Weights to be expressed in the following units: • grams of plutonium • grams of enriched uranium • grams of unified uranium • grams of isotopes of uranium • grams or kilograms of natural uranium, depleted uranium and thorium
Batch InformationMeasurement Identification ICR, PIL • Indicates if the batch data are based on determination or measurements made at the MBA and if the batch has been reported previously N measured at another MBA L measured at another MBA and reported before M measured at the MBA T measured at the MBA and reported before
