Proposed Mission Statement for NewT “New Technologies” is a Topical Working Group (NewT) within the AIPES organization to provide a gateway to detecting and understanding new technological developments in the field of non-invasive imaging and therapies involving radionuclides. As such, NewT is set up by members of imaging and pharmaceutical industries with extensive background in applied and advanced imaging. NewT will receive input from its members on new technological and associated developments worldwide with a focus on EU legislation. NewT will notify AIPES of new European initiatives that AIPES needs to engage in. Further, it will liaise with complementary working groups or committees within the EANM to support technological and radiopharmaceutical research, training and development. Particular attention shall be given to projects and strategies on personalized, image-guided therapy planning, delivery and monitoring.
A definition of our objective TWG’s: discussion groups (“think tanks”) with no specific objectives but a discussion forum related to the groups’ topics and/or in response to recent events impacting AIPES members concerning this topic, which will be in charge of proposing action plans or position papers to the Board (“philosophical orientation”) General Assembly, 03 April 2008 • Bring in new information from the field • Continue communication between TWG and GA meetings • Consider and engage in position papers • Option to influence the orientation of AIPES
