Where did soccer originate from • Soccer originated from a series of rules and standards in England 1800’s, its rules quickly spread throughout the world.
Who made up the first organized set of rules for Football? Why did they do this? • The first rules were drawn up by Ebenezer Cobb Morley, and was approved at a meeting of the football association (FA), on 8 Dec 1863.He invented those rules because he wanted the sports forerunners to stop their silliness and realized that if soccer was played properly and organized it could be a wonderful and popular game.
Why do you think Football has become so popular around the world? (Describe 3 reasons and explain in detail why you think they were important). I think football has became so popular because, firstly the rules are simple to understand, its not too much of a complex game with confusing rules, it’s a game where you can play it alone of with a team, its suitable for all ages, and also because it think that the sort of skills you can adapt and learn form this game is brilliant, and its something that people would look up to you for and the equipment is minimal, all you need is a goal and a ball. And I think especially in poorer countries where they cant afford all the equipment that you can buy, they can easily make up something and still be ale to play the game, e.g. in Africa they use a ball made out of string and a goal which is chalk line.
Do you think there are different ways of playing, or styles, of Football in different areas around the world? Explain your answer using Football terms. Throughout the world I think the same rules still imply, but there are a number of different styles, e.g. the Italian style of playing it to be cunning and cautious, and the central American way of playing is to be crafty and excessive dribblers, and the northern way is to be aggressive, fast and organized. In my opinion I think soccer can be played any way you prefer as long as the ball gets into the right goal.
