Touchdown!

1. No change of possession during the down Scoring team will choose enforcement: Try or Subsequent Kickoff On Opponent (Live ball, UC, or non-player) Touchdown! Example: B25 grabs A75’s facemask during his rush to the QB. A12 throws a touchdown pass to A35. Rule 8-2-2, 8-2-4

2. Decline Foul and score Touchdown Before change Change of possession during the down Scoring team will choose enforcement: Try or Subsequent Kickoff After change On Opponent (NotUnsportsmanlike Conduct or non-player) Touchdown! Rule 8-2-3

3. Change of possession does not matter Non-fouling team will choose enforcement: Try or Subsequent Kickoff On Either Team (Unsportsmanlike Conduct or non-player) Touchdown! Example: As A35 is running into the EZ, he taunts the pursuing B players while on B’s 10 yard line. Rule 8-2-4

4. A will choose enforcement: Replay down following enforcement or Succeeding Spot On B Try is Good! Note: 6-man rule application is “reversed” Rule 8-3-5

5. Non-fouling team will choose enforcement: Try or Subsequent Kickoff THEN BEFORE On either team RFP on Try Touchdown THEN THEN Enforcement on Try On either team before ball is snapped RFP on Try Touchdown Rule 8-2-5

6. K will choose enforcement: Replay down following enforcement or Succeeding Spot On R Field Goal is Good! Rule 8-4-3

7. R33 catch’s K’s punt on the R-30 and returns it for a TD. During the run, K15 blocks below the waist. After the score, R33 taunts K30. R’s coach will first choose enforcement for K15’s foul on the Try or Subsequent Kickoff. K’s coach will then choose enforcement for R33’s foul on the Try or Subsequent Kickoff. (Ensure you explain K’s options for R33’s foul to R’s coach before he makes the decision on enforcing K15’s foul.) Four possible results: A choose try and B choose try: A’s try on the 16-1/2 yard line A choose kickoff and B choose try: A’s try on the 18 yard line and K’s kickoff from the R-45 A choose try and B choose KO: A’s try on 1-1/2 yard line and K’s kickoff on K-25 Both choose KO: K’s kickoff on 40 yard line

8. After A’s TD and before the ready-for-play (RFP), B’s coach calls A15 a Yankees fan. Because B’s unsportsmanlike conduct foul occurred before the RFP, A’s coach has the option to enforce the foul on the Try or the subsequent kickoff.

9. The score is A – 14 and B – 21 with :01 left in the fourth quarter. During a TD pass, B33 roughs passer A12. The fourth quarter ended during the down and the score is now A – 20 and B – 21. By rule, B33’s foul must be enforced from the Try or the subsequent kickoff. However… If A is successful on a 2-point conversion, the game is over and there will not be a subsequent kickoff. If A is successful on a 1-point conversion, the game will go into overtime and there will not be a subsequent kickoff. Therefore, A must enforce B33’s foul on the Try.

10. The score is A – 20 and B - 21 with no time left in the fourth quarter. During a successful kick try, B14 roughs holder A32. • The score is now A – 21 and B – 21. By rule, B14’s foul must be enforced from the Try or the succeeding spot. • A’s coach can enforce B14’s foul half the distance to the goal line and snap again from the B 1-1/2 yard line. • Or, A’s coach can choose to keep the score and enforce B14’s foul on the succeeding spot (first snap in overtime). • Depending on the result of the coin toss, the ball will either be snapped in overtime: • 1st and goal from the 5 yard line • 1st and goal from the 25 yard line

11. This is not a scoring foul, but is worth discussing: On the last play of the first half, B33 piles on runner A23 on the B-2. This is not a live ball foul, so there will not be an untimed down. A will enforce B’s foul on the subsequent kickoff to start the second half.
