East Auditorium Stage • Renovation plans are set for Monday, February 3-Friday, February 7 @ 8:00 am. After today the stage and auditorium will be sealed off.

CDT Testing Dates • February 4 Algebra 1 will finish today • February 5-7 Literature • February 10-12 ELL • February 13-17 Make-ups • Next testing window- Late March, Early April
ACCESS Testing • Date: Jan. 27-Feb. 6th in CA Class • February 9-March 7th - some students may be pulled out to complete testing *This includes make ups and students who receive consultative services *Alternate ACCESS - STW and LFS studentsPlease encourage students to do their best on the test. If you have any questions, please ask an ESL teacher and/or email Amber Hilt. Note: Amber Hilt will be at JP Wednesday, Jan 22nd to discuss this slide and answer any questions.
Parent Conferences • EXPECTATION: TEACHERS SCHEDULE AS MANY CONFERENCES AS POSSBILE DURING THIS TIME PERIOD • Prioritize students with both academic and behavioral concerns • ELL/Special Education Support/Gifted teachers will attend the conferences of their students • Remember to keep track of student /parent attendance via phone logs and parent/guardian emails (Turn papers into the office)
Parent Conference Procedures • Thursday, February 6 Teachers will sign in at the main office: Upon return or if teachers remain in the building • Friday, February 7 Before conferences start teachers will sign in at the main office
Parent Conferences • The East Chestnut Street Mennonite Church, will be providing dinner on February 6th. Dinner is for all campus staff members participating with the long day of Parent Teacher Conferences. The meal will be available in the cafeteria at East from 4:30 – 6 p.m. The meal will include taco salad (taco meat, beans, lettuce, red/green peppers, cucumbers, chips, cheese and salsa- make your own), fruit and their homemade goodies from the congregation. • RSVP via email to Ms. London or Ms. Armanza if you plan to attend.

Congratulations Newspaper in Education Winners (N.I.E.) • Donovan Spencer won for his ad for Lancaster Marketplace • Adaliz Maldonado won for her ad for Lancaster Online • They were honored at a reception at the newspaper office on King St. Saturday, Feb 1, 2014 • Their work will be published Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in the NIE week tabloid.
J.P. McCaskey Campus Mock Trial Teams • The J.P. McCaskey mock trial team #1 defeated Lancaster Catholic last week. Anya Hong won the best witness award and Therese Deslippe won the best lawyer award. Both teams #1 & #2 have now won their first round. Congratulations to both hard working and talented teams!
Pennies for Patients Campaign • 1) NHS students will be delivering Pennies for Patients boxes to every classroom on Thursday, February 6th • 2) Money will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society • 3) Boxes will be collected and the monies counted each week by NHS students • 4) Officially ends the close of school day February 21, 2014 • 5) Winning homerooms will be announced on the following Monday or Tuesday
