  2. ¿Quiénes forman parte de SIM? • Está integrado por los laboratorios nacionales de metrología (NMI) de 34 naciones miembros de la OEA. • 11 grupos de trabajo (WG) en metrología. • Actividades: • Capacitación en: metrología física, química y legal. • Comparaciones de medición. • Reuniones de sensibilización.

Promover y apoyar una infraestuctura integrada de metrología en las Americas que asegure la igualdad en el mercado, mejore la calidad de vida y facilite el comercio internacional. • Una organización regional de metrología representativa, transparente e integrada, que asegure la uniformidad de las medidas en las Américas.   4. Objetivos del proyecto: • Identificar áreas para mejorar la capacidad técnica de medición. • Facilitar la armonización de las mediciones. • Incrementar el intercambio de información. • Crear conciencia del impacto de la metrología.

Apoyotécnico del NIST en 2012: • Guest Researcher Appointments: Mexico – T&F, Vacuum and Software Development Brazil – Ionizing Radiation, Economic Analysis, Charpy Validation, and Nanoparticle SRMs Chile – Chemical Metrology Uruguay – Temperature Costa Rica – Temperature • T&F Systems – Ecuador and Bolivia

  8. 11 Apoyo técnico del CENAM en 2012: Metrólogos de países latinoamericanos realizaron estadías de capacitación en el CENAM, con la siguiente distribución por país: 1 Panamá, 3 Colombia, 1 Trinidad y Tobago, 1 Costa rica, 1 Perú, 2 Nicaragua, 1 Honduras, 1 Paraguay. Comparaciones como piloto o bien como apoyo técnico y establecimiento del valor de referencia. Servicios de calibración. 07 90

Beneficios Con el apoyo económico de la OEA/FEMCIDI En el periodo 2006-2012: • Capacitación de más de 500 personas en metrología física, metrología química y metrología legal. • Más de 30 cursos y talleres. • Alrededor de 12 eventos para resaltar la importancia de la metrología. • Publicación de la revista técnica anual INFOSIM.
