Rick Wilson RECENT SOCAL MRA EVENTS SoCal Education Day- July 22nd Education Day, which was held once again at Los Angeles Valley College, was a big success with 45 attendees. Our opening session started with Wendy Kheel and Rudy Wu from Universal Studios discussing how Universal Studios brought their guest research in-house. Charlie Schwartz (Intelligent Analytical Services) spoke on the topic of Basic Statistics & Segmentation Analysis. Kate Greenhill Taplin (MarketTools), discussed utilizing Online & Offline methodologies for Hispanic Research. In addition, we had a panel discussion featuring Rochelle Newman-Carrasco (Enlace), Kate Greenhill-Taplin (Market Tools) and Carlos Garcia (Garcia Research Associates) on Trends in Hispanic Research. Ed Sugar, one of our own SoCal Board members, and Marion Heyn, Associate Professor from LAVC presented “Netiquette” which reviewed the “do’s and don’ts” of e-mail. George Sloan spoke from both a moderator’s and a previous facility owner’s perspective on the importance of the Qualitative Research process. Dirk Rinker (Campbell Rinker), Amy Shields (Nichols Research) and Eric Sandberg (e-Rewards) concluded our event discussing what you really need to know when it comes to Privacy issues. Quoted as saying…… Lorei Musselman (LA Research) - “Education Day July 22 was a success due to the efforts of Ed Sugar of On-Line Communications, Debby Schlesinger-Hellman and Franicine Glassenburg of Schlesinger Associates. The speakers, venue, and networking made the day a memorable one.” Wendy Kheel (Universal Studios)“I thought the whole program was very good. I wish I could have sat in on the concurrent sessions, as well as the Hispanic sessions.
