Columbia – Lessons Learned • Warm advection is a much more efficient lifting mechanism than a wedge of cold advection. • Check water temperatures offshore to get a sense of the quantity of moisture available. • Convection requires cooling aloft, a massive warm advection will stabilize upper levels.
