Question Number 2 - Describe the daily life of people living in the New England, Middle, and Southern colonies. New England - People in the New England colonies mainly became farmers, they woke up early and did choirs on the farm. Depending on the day they would go to church then have lunch. After this they might do more choirs or activities ending the day with dinner. Middle – Farming was the most common job in the Middle colonies too. They would get up early to do choirs on the farm like milking cows. They would go to church depending on the day and then have a lunch. Then they would do more choirs on the farm or activities and games and then end the day with dinner. Southern – In the southern colonies they would wake up to manage the slaves and put them to work then, depending the da they would go to church and then have lunch. After lunch they would tend to the slaves and play games such as cards and pool with their friends then end the day with dinner 1. What jobs do they have in the regions?2. Question Number 3 - Describe colonial life in America from the perspectives of at least three different groups of people • Some were brought unwillingly, like Africans. Some came from England to start an American life, like landowners and merchants. • Slaves probably didn’t like America and wanted to go back to Africa. Merchants probably enjoyed life because they made a lot of money. Main Question Answer The perspective of a laborer/slave is an unhappy one because they work without pay. Wealthy landowners had a happy perspective because they have money and probably slaves. A farmers perspective is an okay one because they work very hard, but still make money. How did the different groups end up in America? 2. How did the different groups feel about their lives in America? 3. What are the jobs of each group?
Question Number 4 • 1. What country did colonial America trade for slaves? A: Sweden, Denmark, France, Spain, England, Netherlands, Portugal. • 2. What were the labor forces in the colony? A: Cash crop farming, slavery, and indentured servants. • 3. What source of transportation did they have? A: Boats, they sailed across the Atlantic Ocean. Describe the development of the emerging labor force in the colonies. A: different types of labor forces that colonial America traded with different countries.
Make generalizations about the reasons for regional differences in colonial America • Did the people help the other people? • What are the groups like? • What were the differences? • No, they did not help the other people. • The groups were like poor Africans, and servants. • The differences were how the places looked and how people were dressing up.
