Do you believe your club has a problem with membership retention? Membership retention is an ongoing process that requires constant attention, action, and commitment. It’s important to look at how many members are leaving the club each year, and not just if the number of net gain or loss. Clubs may have significant retention problems even if the number of members stays constant from year to year. When clubs continually gain or lose , a revolving door effect is created, making it difficult to operate effectively and attract new members.
Six Retention Ideas • INFORM all non-Rotarian visitors of Rotary International ‘s programs and a club profile. • INVITE a prospective member with a personal visit by the proposer and a member of the club’s membership committee. • INDUCT new members in a dignified and meaningful manner.
