Alignment • Alignment is an extension of proximity • It has to do with placing items so that they line up • Alignment is a concept that produces both grouping and organizes information to create order • This picture is an example of alignment because it has the tire marks aligned in the form of a tree. 3. Balance • A state of equilibrium or parity characterized by cancellation of all forces by equal opposing forces. • This picture is an example of balance because it shows a proportioned balance between each side of the building Balance 2Balance 3 Balance 4

4. Contrast • Contrast means to set in opposition in order to show or emphasize differences • This picture is an example of contrast because it has black and white background with the focal point (the car) in a different color form the rest Contrast 2Contrast 3 Contrast 4

5. Repetition • Repetition is the act or process or an instance of repeating or being repeated. • This is an example of repetition because it has Marilyn Monroe’s face repeated in different color contrasts Repetition 2Repetition 3 Repetition 4

6. Sizing • Sizing is the treatment of a fabric or other surface with size. • This is an example of sizing because it uses the specific sizes of the bikers to show who is the focal point according to placement Sizing 2Sizing 3 Sizing 4
