Overview • Situation of reduced resources • New Eurostat mandate for international cooperation • Focus on regions rather than countries (Africa is the geographical priority) • Promote governance – CoP and quality frameworks • Change of staff • Many contracted out activities coming to an end • Planning for the new financial period

  3. On-going tools development and training provision The Snapshot The Guide to Statistics Essential SNA ERETES Eurotrace CPI (price) tool ASTRA

  4. Other recent activities, e.g. Signing of an Action Plan with China (June 2012) Seminar on Water Statistics in the ENP & CA (Sept 2012) Seminar on SDMX in Mexico (October 2012) Support to seminars on regional cooperation strategies in El Salvador and Jakarta Publications (EU-AU, SiF)

  5. From 2014 onwards • Focus on promoting existing tools (Essential SNA, the snapshot, the Guide, Eurotrace) • No further developments or training in relation to ASTRA • Develop of a CPI (price) tool put on hold until user needs are clearly identified • Continue to maintain ERETES in the short term, but now actively looking for other stakeholders to step up • Support to seminars aimed at sharing Eurostat's experience and practice as a regional statistical organisation to equivalent entities in Africa and Asia
