FIRELEC Migration Solution

Learn how Firelec's migration solutions facilitate upgrading from an Emerson PROVOX™ 20-Series system to a Siemens SIMATIC S7-300™ system without letting wiring costs hinder the process. Two solutions are offered, detailing the steps for transitioning while maintaining existing hardware and wiring infrastructure.

  2. PROVOX™ 20-Series > S7-300™ FMS-PVXCL-S7 • Two solutions available : Solution N°1 : FMS-PVXCL-S7-1 • Removing I/O panels • Removingassociated I/O cables • Removing I/O files CP6701 • ReplacingexistingPCBs (Printed Circuit Board) of PROVOX™ I/O panels by PCBs of IOPs (Input Output Panels) Solution N°2 :FMS-PVXCL-S7-2 • Keepingexisting I/O panels • Keepingassociated I/O cables • Keeping I/O files CP6701 and removing communications and I/O cards • InstallingPIAs (PROVOX™ Interface Adapters) in the existing CP6701 I/O files

  3. PROVOX™ 20 series > S7-300™UsingIOPs FMS-PVXCL-S7-1 I/O card and I/O panel to be removed • No existing PROVOX™ hardware is kept(I/O File – I/O card – I/O panel – I/O cable) • Existing PROVOX™ I/O panels are replaced by new IOPs which are electrically and mechanically fully compatible • Existing wiring is kept in place • Time for Hardware migration from an old toward a new I/O panel : about 30mn per panel

  6. Advantages FMS-PVXCL-S7-1 • The main advantages of the IOPs panels • for PROVOX™ migration are as follow : • Existing wiring is just disconnected and reconnected • without any change at the same place • (same terminals with same labelling and same electrical features) • The existing loop drawings are kept without any modification, • allowing all maintenance processes and procedures • to remain unchanged.

  7. PROVOX™ 20 series > S7-300™Using PIA (PROVOX™ Interface Adapter) FMS-PVXCL-S7-2 I/O cardto be removed New Siemens S7™ System I/O panel and cable to be kept • The PROVOX™ Interface Adapter (PIA) allows to connect easily, an existing PROVOX™ Termination Panel to a Siemens S7™ I/O card keeping : • the existing I/O panel • the existing associated I/O cable
