What is in your packets: • Check sheet for what needs to be completed this week for registration. • Most current transcript • Grad Check Form • Registration contract • Instructions for entering your class requests into infinite Campus • **Note: You can access the registration guide on-line at the HS website: Steamboatschools.net; click on HS; click on counseling tab; click on registration & enrollment; click on registration guide. • ** This power point is also on the website if you need to refer to it as you register!

  4. TIMELINE & Overview Registration opens today! You will have this week, Monday-Thursday to: 1.) Complete a Graduation Check 2.) Take your ICAP Survey In Naviance 3.) Complete your 4-year ICAP plan 4.)Fill out your Registration Contract and get signatures from your teachers (as needed) and your parents/guardians 5.) Enter your request in Infinite Campus (IC) and print the completed request form 6.) Turn in your registration contract with the print off of the IC request form to the counselors NO LATER THAN THIS THURSDAY at 4pm

  5. NOTE: If you do not meet this deadline you will not be allowed to make schedule changes!!! Your counselor will make your schedule based on a credit check. You will not have the option of changing your schedule in the fall.

  6. OMG We have to do what by When? DON’T STRESS….You have done all of this before…..

  7. STEP 1: Complete your graduation check Counselors will be available to answer questions Monday-Thursday this week during lunch and from 2-4pm in the common area!!

Specific Graduation Requirements: 1.5 credits Business Career Technology .5 credit Fundamentals of Business Career Technology 1.0 credits Fine Arts 1.0 credits English 9 1.0 credits American Literature 1.0 credits World History 1.0 credits English .5 credit Speech 2.0 credits Math with grade of “C” or above .5 credit Personal Financial Literacy .5 credit Health .5 credit Team sports or Lifetime sports .5 credit Physical Education 1.0 credits Earth Space Physical Science 1.0 credits Biology .5 credit Fund of Physics .5 credit Anatomy and Physiology .5 credit Geography .5 credit Civics 1.0 credits American History 1.0 credits World History 1.0 credits World Language 6.5 credits Electives TOTAL: 25 credits Note:7 cr. your Freshman, Sophomore, Junior year =21 6 1st semester senior year and 4 2nd semester would put you at 26 total credits.

  9. WHAT YOU NEED TO GRADUATE

  10. Once your Grad Check is done… Log into Naviance and take your ICAP Survey (Individual Career and Academic Plan)

Completing your ICAP SURVEY Log onto your Naviance account From the SSHS website select Student Resources on the left, and Naviance student log in Username is your: student id Password is your: two initials with your 6 digit birthdate EXAMPLE: Danielle Morris Birthdate: April 2nd 1998 password: dm040298

  12. 2.) Click on Tasks 1.) Click on the About Me Tab

  13. Click on 2014 ICAP Survey

  14. Click on Complete a Survey

  15. Take time to thoughtfully complete this survey. The information gathered from this survey helps determine what classes we need to offer

  16. Next Step: 4 year Plan Now that you know what you need to graduate, and you have taken your ICAP Survey, lets make a 4 year plan to drive your registration decisions. From your Naviance account…

  18. Open last years 4 year plan Select expand this list to see last years 4 year plan

  19. Open last years plan by clicking on it Select last years 4 year plan

  20. Open the excel document to your computer

  21. 1. Make changes2. Save it to your Computer

  22. Now add it to your Naviance SELECT SSHS 4 year plan Sel

  23. ADD IT LIKE AN ATTACHMENT SELECT UPLOAD A DOCUMENT

Things To Plan foR & Think about when you are developing your 4- year plan Remember: Counselors will be available all week during lunch and from 2-4 to answer questions and help you develop a solid plan • 1.Graduation Requirements pg. 6 • 2. AP Classes • 3. CMC Classes • 4. Diplomas of Emphasis pg.8 • 5. Unique Offerings • 6. NCAA Eligibility pg16 • 7. College Entrance Requirements • Please refer to the registration guide on the SSHS website for specific information about each of these. Plan ahead to make the most of your time at SSHS!

What Colleges want to see from You…. • See the HEAR chart with requirements (see registration guide page: 15 ) • AP and other rigorous course work • 2-3 levels of one World Language ex: Spanish I, Spanish II, Spanish III • Involvement in School……Join a club or sport! • Community Service Hours (voluntary not those required for diversion ) • Demonstrate Leadership • A rigorous curriculum ** Note: You need to check with your desired college on specific requirements to ensure you are meeting their specific expectations.

  26. THOUGHTFUL PLANNING FOR A SUCCESSFUL YEAR • Your requests are what determine the classes that are offered • Take time to discuss your plans with your counselor and parents • Make sure that the courses you want are on your contract and you put them in Infinite Campus.

  27. Now it’s time to complete your Registration contract:

  28. To this point in the Registration Process you have…… • Completed your grad check • Completed your ICAP Survey • Completed your 4 year plan • Completed your registration contract NOW……. It’s time to put your requests in Infinite Campus! Please refer to the “Infinite Campus Registration Input Instruction Power Point” on the Website.

  29. Again…..TO FINALIZE YOUR REGISTRATION PROCESS: You have to turn in …… 1.) Completed registration contracts with signatures 2.) Print off of IC Course Requests with a parent signature Counselors will check to ensure you have completed your ICAP survey and 4 year plan when you turn in your registration forms! Remember: Counselors are available Monday-Thursday this week in the common area from 2pm-4pm and during lunch to provide help and support you through the registration process.
