Packing • You will walking around cities shopping and sightseeing. You should pack sensible and clothes for both warm and cold weather. • All the town and cities we will visit in Yunnan Province are at a high altitude, so will be cold at night. • Shanghai might be quite hot and humid.
Packing • Pack reasonably nice clothes which are comfortable and will not show the dirt too much. • You can hand wash some of your clothes if you want. • Washing kit • Basic first aid kit/medication bag • Inform us about any medical issues you have or any health related incidents which happen on the trip.
Shopping • There will be lots of opportunities for shopping. Don’t spend all your money at once. The best places for buying gifts and souvenirs will probably be Dali and Lijiang
Money • You can buy Yuan in Jersey, but unless you buy a lot, you will not get a much better rate than at Heathrow • You will need money to buy meals in airports, but not for any other meals. • Bring money for snacks and drinks • The rest is for souvenirs and gifts. • £80-150 should be plenty

Using our Mandaringetting the most out of the trip • We will expect you to use your language skills. You will need to haggle and bargain in local markets and tourist markets. • The Chinese people you meet will be delighted to hear you speaking their language.
