Why working groups? • Working in a team is nicer than working alone • Intensive analysis of a particular subject of particle physics • when working on tasks/problems one has to cope with various challenges -> find your own/team strategies and reorganize knowledge in your brain • chance for you to not only receive information but rather do something, become creative, ... • Improve the quality of our programmes by further developing activities • better understand your colleagues
How to work together? • Introduction to work in working groups (NOW!!!) • Offer for working groups (today: 9:15-11:00am) • Longer break to consider and make a decision (today: 11am-4:30pm) • Decisive Phase (today: 4:30-5:30pm) • Preparation and first meeting of your working group (dates will be fixed individually with your working group leader) • Share your first ideas with the whole group (14 July 2014, afternoon) • Short interim report after 2 weeks (18 July 2014, morning) • Final Reports (24-25 July 2014)
When can you work with your working group? • Organize yourselves! (Your group leader will help you too.) • Check the agenda, look out for gaps, fill in the gaps and • Enjoy!
What to do with the results? • practical, simple, useful, easy to understand • make available by 25 July 2014 !!! • use it in your classroom • share with your colleagues • send us feedback
