ALL Students aged 3-18 involved in a single day of activities. • These included; Y5 Design and promoting a Healthy Eating Restaurant • FS2 decided to give their class four jobs throughout the week to earn money. • Secondary History Students conducting a historical based murder mystery that hails from ancient Greece Encounter Days
‘Opening Minds’ Currently in Y7 expanding in September to Y8 • Theatre Production – well used (!) ‘dragons den’ The Y7 Curriculum
7GHI entered the Dragons’ Den on Monday this week!! The event was a success and the students made a brilliant impression. Here is just a selection of the parents’ (the Dragons’) FEEDBACK: Year 7 L&C “I have seen some very strong sales pitches today. The presentations had great attention to detail.” “Very enthusiastic students! Excellent presentations and plays.” Well Done 7GHI! “Students gave a clear outline of costs involved in producing their plays. Excellent presentations!” “I wish I was able to invest and give a cheque to every single group!” “I thoroughly enjoyed the Dragons’ Den… Very impressive, well thought-out pitches and some students used great persuasive language to entice us investors and successfully sell their company.”
Level 1/2 Certificate equivalent to a short course GCSE • Entrepreneurial in nature covering such topics as finance, the enterprise process, the internet and enterprise and rights, responsibilities and ethics of enterprise • Not to mention the practical nature of the ‘enterprise project’ 5648AED raised for UNICEF Y10 Enterprise and Employability
1st year through another Level 1/2 certificate • Topics include; Applying for Jobs and courses, the changing world of work, hazard identification, healthy lifestyles for work-life balance. • Additional coursework makes up 20% of the overall qualification. Y11 Preparation for Working Life
