Program Description The Tri-Mentoring Program provides student focused programming that fosters ongoing development, achievement, and a balanced campus life. To Ryerson Business 100 students TMP offers: • One-on-one support through peer mentoring • Access to resources and groups/associations available on campus • Opportunity to build relationships and network (with peers, faculty, campus group and professionals) • Lunch & Learns and Social Events • Opportunity to show case talent and participate in Intramural sports. .
Program Requirements • 1st year and direct entry students will be matched with senior student according to faculty • Communicate with Mentor 4-6 hours each month for example, in-person, telephone, email, msn. must inform mentor of communication changes, for example preference in communication method or availability) • Complete Progress Report each month • Commit to the Tri-Mentoring Program Although Business 100 ends in December we encourage you to commit from September 2007 to March 2008 (Please note that the program is flexible and is designed to compliment the academic calendar and student responsibilities). • Engage in program activities and events
Engagement Opportunities • Orientation • Relationship with your Mentor • Lunch & Learns and Social Events:Welcome back party, Discussion Circle,Cultural Events, Movie breaks, Year End Party, Talent Showcase, Intramural Sports, and Varsity Games
Reflection Papers • Completion of four Reflection Paper (1 page each) • Due October 9th - Identifying Goals/ skills to be developed for example: developing communication skills, learning about other cultural groups and diversity issues, developing self confidence, building relationships with peers & faculty, having a balancing campus life: academics, social, personal, work and campus commitment/engagement) • Due October 23rd - Student Engagement - Outlining areas of interest and involvement:Program orientation, relationship with mentor, activities of interest, campus associations/groups (exploring campus groups events) • Due November 13th - Activities supporting personal goals: Identify activities that are supporting development personal goals. • Due November 27th - Program outcome (opportunity to discuss application of skills (hard & soft), Documenting over all personal growth, achievements and futures goals) Apply Online: www.ryerson.ca/trimentoring
