Introduction Clinical Psychological Service of the Social Welfare Department has been established for almost thirty years. Currently, under the administration of Clinical Psychological Service Branch, there are five Clinical Psychology Units situated at different parts of Hong Kong. Each Clinical Psychology Unit is staffed by one Senior Clinical Psychologist and 10 or 11 Clinical Psychologists who provide various types of psychological services to the general public, as referred by social workers of the Social Welfare Department.

Pathways to Doctoral Studies Doctor of Psychology (Clinical) Program (2 years full-time or 3 years part-time) PhD with a Specialization in Clinical Psychology Program (4-5 years full-time) PhD Research Master of Social Science in Clinical Psychology Program (2 years full-time) MSSc (CP) level Coursework Undergraduate Studies in Psychology or equivalent Undergraduate Studies in Psychology or equivalent
Admission for MSSc(CP) Program • Opens every two years, next intake in 2016 • Eligibility requires an Honors Degree Majoring in Psychology (or Equivalent) • Based on multiple source for selection • Academic Capability, Reference Letters, Personal Statement, Interview Performance etc • Gentle reminders: • Thesis and HKPS graduate membership
Eligibility for HKPS Graduate Membership A bachelor degree from an institution recognized by the Council at a minimum lower 2nd class honours level or a GPA of 3.0 with psychology as the major subject taking no less than 8 courses in different areas of psychology covering at least Research Methods in Psychology and 5 out of the 6 following fundamental areas: 1. Biological / Physiological Psychology, 2. Developmental / Child Psychology, 3. Cognitive Psychology / Perception / Learning / Memory, 4. Personality / Individual Differences, 5. Social Psychology, and 6. History of Psychology / Contemporary Issues in Psychology; or
