Frontier Middle School - 1:1 Technology Expectations Violation of iPad expectations can result in loss of access to an iPad. Students will still be responsible for participating in class and completing assignments. Responsible: Ø I will be a responsible user of my iPad: o know where it is at all times o charge nightly o never leave unattended o always remember to bring to school. Ø I will save and/or submit student work completed on the iPad, and make sure it is accessible. Ø I will use my iPad on a table or desktop, never in my lap, and keep it in the designated home spot when not in use. Ø I will stay on the appropriate activity in class—no grazing. Ø I understand I am financially responsible and agree to return the iPad, case and cord in good working condition. Ø I will immediately report the theft or damage of my device to an adult at Frontier Middle School.

  9. Ø I will not use the iPad camera, unless I have permission from the teacher. Ø I will not attempt to bypass security settings, disassemble my iPad, remove district labels or markings, or make any modifications or repairs myself. Ø I will use my iPad in ways that are appropriate, educational, and that meet FMS expectations and comply with the BSD Internet Use Agreement, both during the school day and at home. Safe: Ø I will keep my iPad safe, and acknowledge that I am financially responsible for all damage or loss of my iPad caused by neglect, accident, or abuse. Ø I will NOT lend my iPad to anyone. Ø I will protect my iPad by keeping it in a protective case and keep all food and liquids away. Ø I will keep all passcodes and passwords for my device private and never share any personal information. Ø I understand that my iPad is subject to inspection at any time, without notice, and remains the property of Bethel School District This form will be available in the FMS Student Handbook. Students and parents are expected to read this document and be accountable for all information in the document.

  10. Family Preparation for iPads 1:1 Each student at FMS will be receiving an iPad for instructional use. Technology is being integrated into the curriculum so students will gain tech skills. • Talk with your student about when and where they will use their iPad at home. • Set home rules so everyone is aware of the expectations. • Locate a charging outlet where the iPad will be placed each night to be charged and easily accessed in the morning so it is not forgotten. (Place the iPad in or near the student’s backpack to help remember to bring it to school each day.) The district expectation is that the student will bring the iPad to school fully charged each day. The charger and cord are to be left at home.

  11. iPad, Case, Cord, Charging Block Student will receive an iPad, Case, cord and charging block when they checkout. All four pieces are to be returned in June. The cord & block are to go home and stay at home. The student is expected to bring the iPad charged each morning. District policy. If it is not charged, you can charge in the library. Or you can checkout a loaner if an iPad is needed in class. The student is not to decorate or write on the case or iPad. The student’s name and barcode must be visible.
