Montadale • The Montadale is a medium-wool, dual-purpose breed. • They are noted for producing high-quality carcasses and excellent wool that is very white in color.
Columbia • The Columbia is a crossbred wool breed developed by the USDA in 1912. • The breed produces large ewes with large lambs and good wool yield. • Columbia sheep are bred to survive well on the range conditions of the western United States.
Barbado • This is a hair sheep that originated in Texas. • Males are horned and females are polled. • The color is usually tan, tan with a pale or black belly, or “pied,” meaning that it has two or more colors in large spots or blotches.
Cheviot • The Cheviot is a small, medium-wooled, polled sheep. • It is raised primarily for meat and produces a good-quality lamb carcass. • It is a hardy sheep developed centuries ago in Scotland and England.
