  3. Approach • Members enumerated activities they would want to see during the Network Day • 3 core groups set up • Access to Finance • Agri-business and food security • Innovations and technology in Agric • Core Groups identify activities to jointly implement

  4. Access to Finance • 8 – 10 Farmers exhibition fairs. KLPA is the lead organization. B2B platform set up to run parallel to B2C exhibition • Documenting impact of exhibition fairs • Action Learning group on access to financial services for dairy sector in Kenya – case study of JuhudiKilimo supported dairy groups • Financial service providers cocktail

  5. Innovations & Technology Group • Eastern Africa Farmer innovations Fair – Lead Organization is Prolinnova Kenya. The fair will be hosted on 28th and 29th May. The organizing committee is made up of various stakeholders • Corporate Innovations workshop

  6. Agri-business and food security group • Soil fertility and diagnosis workshop – disseminate practices of soil fertility maintenance • Online Youth Challenge “farming is cool”. Document what would attract youth as agri-preneurs • Exchange visit to cheese making farm • Farm – Firm relationship brokering workshop • Aquaculture workshop and exchange visit to RIAT and Dominion farm in Nyanza

  7. Other Cross Cutting activities • Gender in value chains coaching trajectory • 18 participants to be recruited to be part of the trajectory • 1 week residential training session • On site follow up • Exchange visits for peer review • Horticulture and food security alliance - coordinating the learning agenda • Online platform – make it more attractive, vibrant and a one-stop shop for info and networking • Networking events – network day (with a bigger market place), cocktails • Deals brokerage and linkages

  8. What do we anticipate from our members • Increased information sharing through our online platform and events • Increased joint activities – engagement • Shaping the agenda for the future – where do we want to go? • Active participation in events • Contributions where necessary
