1 3 2 4 Replacing a Toner Cartridge • Place cartridge in appropriate color slot • Slowly push the cartridge toward the back until it locks into place Changing Toner • Pull the handle toward the front of the printer • Lift the cartridge straight up Removing a Toner Cartridge *Replace only when Display Screen says “Add COLOR”
Print Cartridges 1. 2. • Unlatch the two green tabs across from each other • Lift up on the black bar • Press the green tab to the cartridge desired and pull it out Removing the Print Cartridges 3.
Print Cartridges 1. 2. • Make sure the green arrow fits securely on the track before pushing the cartridge in • When the cartridge is slid into place, close the lock bar and snap the two green tabs on to secure it Replacing the Print Cartridges *Replace only when the Display Screen says “Replace PCU”
Waste Toner 2. • Unlock the waste toner • Pull the waste toner straight out • Insert a new waste toner • Lock the new waste toner 1. 3. *Replace only when the Display Screen says “Replace Waste Toner” 4.
Paper Trays • Open the Manual Feed (Bypass Tray) and fully extend the tray • Insert the paper and adjust the guides so they are snuggly against the paper *Note the side that will be printed on is the face down side 1. Loading the Manual Feed Tray 2.
Paper Trays Change the paper size for the Bypass Tray • Press Menu and go to Paper Input and press “Enter#” • Go to Bypass Size and press “Enter#” • Choose paper size and press “Enter#” *Note that the paper cannot exceed a width of 8.5 inches
Paper Trays Loading paper in Tray 1 (Default Tray) 1. - 2. • Pull on the handle at the absolute bottom of the front • Remove the tray form the printer by lifting up as it is being pulled out • Open the width of the tray up all the way by holding the guides on the sides of the tray and moving them outward • Slide paper in from the back of the tray and tighten the paper guides snuggly against the paper • Return the tray to the bottom of the printer 3. 4.
Jams? Where? When the printer is jammed it will display one of the following: • Remove Misfeed A: Internal Path • Remove Misfeed B: Fuser Unit • Remove Misfeed Y: Paper Tray
Jam: Internal Path Fix 1. • If the jam does not come out easily, look at the lower right side and locate the letter A on the wall of the printer • Pull it down and remove the jam • Open the front cover • Locate the jam under the Fuser Unit (Caution: HOT!) • Slowly pull the jam out 4. 5. 2. – 3.
CAUTION: Fuser is HOT! Jam: Fuser Unit Fix 1. • Open the front cover • Lift the left and right “B1” blue levers on the fuser • Remove Jam 2. 3. 4. • If the jam does not come out easily, pull “B2” down. • Remove Jam 5.
Jam: Paper Tray Fix 1. 2. • Slowly pull the paper tray out • Remove Jam • Open the front cover and then close the front cover to reset the jam condition 3.
