Legal background • Organizational/Legal framework for RIS established • Act on Inland Navigation and Inland Ports (NN 109/07, 132/07, 51/13...) • Regulation on River information services (NN 99/08, 8/11, 39/12) • Regulation for allocation of name, mark and ENI of inland navigationvessels (NN 56/12) • Signed contract among RIS-providers in order to enable international data • exchange with logistical users of RIS (by AIW 2012.)
Established components of RIS • CRORIS portal • Gateway portal (Data Gateway) - the latest standard version (R2D2 3.4) tested • ERI (Electronic Reporting International) • NtS (Notices to Skippers), hydrological and meteorological data • Graphical gateway for commercial users for on-line VTT on a Google Earth platform. • ENCs for the Danube, Drava & Sava Rivers with GIS objects information • Other information relevant for navigation • General information of RIS • Messaging, Alarms, Warnings, Emergencies... • ePort – Introducing RIS into Port related processes

ENC • ENC (standard 2.1) for download - free of charge: • Danube (rkm 1.294 – rkm 1.433) • Drava (rkm 0 - rkm 23) • Sava (rkm 207 – rkm 594)
RIS on Danube & Drava river • 100% of Croatian part of Danube and commercial part of Drava river covered with AIS signal • Full coverage of voice VHF radio • Cross-border implementation of joint projects Hungary-Croatian (CB-RIS, CB-RIS II, CoPO…)
RIS on Sava river • AIS network, 7 locations • Integration into existing CroRIS system • Implementation of ERI system for the Sava waterway RIS on the Sava River – Cooperation Model • Implementation of the RIS and voice VHF systems on the Sava river – tendering/call for proposals is in progress • Supply of equipment for the RIS and voice VHF systems on the Sava river – evaluation of tenders is in progress • Total amount 1.6 million € • Full implementation of project is expectedin the 2015.

Challenges for the Future • Intensive work on the international RIS data exchange on EU level • International Data Exchange - adopting new standards in operation of DataGateway. • Design and development of National HULL database - key element for electronic reporting (planed in 2014.) • NCC full operalization • Full RIS & Voice VHF coverage (implementation & supply) on the Sava river waterway at the beginning of 2015. • Danube AIS network infrastructure upgrade & Improvement of voice VHF • NtS upgrade to the latest standard • RIS index development • Improve of quality of ENCs & upgrade to the latest standard • Improving cross-border & regionbilateral and multilateral relationships • Promoting inland waterway transportation
