Survey by Self-Described Christians- Barna Research Group • 22 % God is not the “all-powerful, all-knowing Creator of the universe who rules the world today.” • 40% Believe Satan is not a real being • 22% Said Jesus sinned while on earth • Only 58% agreed that the Holy Spirit is a living force. • Only 64% believe that people can be under the influence of spiritual forces such as demons or evil spirits(like the stories told in the Bible.) • Only 59% Said their Christian faith had greatly transformed their lives • Only 61% agreed strongly that a person must either side with God or the devil • 40% felt that Mormons were Christians • Only 55% believe the Bible is accurate in its teachings • Only 19% strongly agreed that the Bible was superior to other books considered holy such as the Koran and the Book of Mormon 90 percent claimed they desired to please and honor Jesus in all they do, only 19 percent personally read the Bible every day.
