ReCAP: Physical Plant • 8.6 million books • CUL 3.8, NYPL 2.9, PUL 1.9 • 5 Modules complete • 2 planned for construction: Module 8 & 9 expected to break ground FY14, completed FY15 • CUL manages transfers with quotas • Tours conducted once or twice each year ReCAP Columbia University
Recent Projects • Orphan barcodes • Barcodes accessioned at ReCAP and no record in Voyager • 3,695 barcodes were identified with customer code EV • Obsolete customer code used for vernacular languages • Sarah Elman and Zack Lane created documentation and workflow in Fall 2010 • Approx. 3,000 now resolved thanks to GA staff at Butler and contributions of EA staff ReCAP Columbia University
Recent Projects • De-accession of DVDs • Return high-use and at-risk titles to campus • Videos will be shelved in Butler Media Center and be non-circulating • CLIO location off,bmc will be used to limit delivery only to Milstein Reserves (BMC) • Action plan created and discussed in May 2011 • Minimal staff training expected for BMC • Ensures access to viewing equipment ReCAP Columbia University
East Asian Collections at ReCAP • East Asian Library has both general and special collections at ReCAP • Circulating and non-circulating collections • Items in poor physical condition do not circulate • Mainly print collection; some archives • Lots of information and instructions can be found on the ReCAP and East Asian Library website ReCAP Columbia University
